A Victorian man has been arrested by police over allegations he was travelling to Sydney to have sex with a 14-year-old girl.
A 22-year-old Victorian man has been nabbed by police at a Sydney hotel over allegations he was travelling to the city to engage in a sexual relationship with a young girl.
Detectives arrested the man at his hotel room in Chatswood about 10pm on Saturday following reports of his sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
The man is facing a string of charges including five counts of having sexual intercourse with a child, eleven counts of intentionally sexually touching a child and two counts of intentionally doing a sexual act with a child.
Police will allege in court that the man arranged via social media to meet the girl at the hotel and engage in sexual activities on five separate occasions.
He was refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court on Sunday

Emergency services were called to a home in Bidwill, west of the city last Friday night to reports a 10-week-child was unresponsive.
The baby boy was taken to hospital in a critical condition and despite the efforts of doctors, died the next day.
A post mortem examination determined the child died from a significant brain injury.
Last night, homicide squad detectives arrested the boy's father at Mount Druitt police station and charged him with manslaughter.

A man and woman are dead following an axe attack in Sydney’s southwest.
Emergency services were called to a home on Huntley Place in Cartwright at 4.30pm this afternoon following a neighbourhood dispute which saw the street placed into lockdown.
Officers placed the street in lockdown shortly after arriving and negotiated for a short time with the alleged offender.
The officers located a woman and a man suffering serious stab wounds. The woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition, but police later confirmed she had died.
A third man who was also injured is currently in police custody and assisting officers with the investigation.

Khaled Khayat, 51, and Mahmoud Khayat, 34, planned to bring down an Etihad Airways flight to Abu Dhabi with the device hidden inside a meat grinder in July 2017.
The bomb was placed in the luggage of a third brother, Amer, who was to unwittingly carry it onto the plane, but the plan was aborted at Sydney Airport.
The brothers then planned a separate attack using a poisonous gas.
This year, two juries found them guilty of conspiring to plan a terrorist act.
Justice Christine Adamson today said even though nobody was injured or died as a result of the plan, the brothers succeeded in creating terror in the minds of the general public.
"By their conduct they have jeopardised the sense of safety members of the community are entitled to expect," she said.
"The conspiracy plainly envisaged that a large number of people would have been killed ... no-one would have survived ... no-one would have had time to say goodbye."
Justice Adamson sentenced Khaled Khayat to 40 years in prison with a non-parole period of 30 years.
Mahmoud Khayat was handed a jail term of 36 years with a non-parole period of 27 years.

NSW Police say the man invited the 18-year-old woman back to his house on Friday night before allegedly touching her indecently several times.
He also tried to feed yoghurt to the woman with a spoon.
The woman had just finished a door-to-door sales shift when the 41-year-old man stopped her on the road and invited her to his home in Hurstville Grove, according to police.
The man was arrested on Saturday afternoon and charged with sexually touching another person without their consent.
He was listed to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
