Bradfield schemes will never work successfully. They are based upon erroneous reasongs WRT to amount of evaporation that is experienced in Australia's North. The water would redirected inland and simply evaporate away.
But the extra water could be diverted into our river systems.

Still just going to evaporate away, Bobby.

Stop being argumentative -
of course some will evaporate but a lot will get used on farms.

Moi? Argumentative? Noi! Bobby, I merely repeated what the investigations into the Bradfield scheme showed - Bradfield had used European river flow models, rather than basing his concept on Australian ones - which suffered considerably more evaporation.

The water needs to be sent via a giant pipeline so that it won't evaporate.

And that adds how much to the cost? Then you have to have pumping stations...

The cost is enormous because the pipe would need to be about 2 meters in diameter &
made of stainless steel so it would last forever.
Pumping stations could be solar energy powered & would have to be every 10kms or so along the pipeline.
It's a large investment but it needs to be done.

Get back to us when you have the costing, Bobby. I'd be interested to see realistic costings of this project. Of course, you'll also have problems with amoebic meningitis breeding in that pipeline to worry about...

Brian,
I don't have a costing but we need a feasibility study done.
We also need to know how to stop dangerous biological organisms being transferred to the Southern states.
It's not easy but we need to find out.
At the moment all we have is ignorance and no one who seems to care about all the drought stricken farmers.

The United Nations in their AGENDA 2030 proposes that about 1 billion excess people will be exterminated to reach a sustainable population in a sustainable world.
