Isn't it amazing that we are being told the opposite now?
The evidence clearly points out how in error the previous predictions were. Global Warming is now what is being observed, not Global Cooling. :roll

dear Brian,
Look at the video at 11:30.
Dr James Hayes says we are heading for an Ice Age.
He has evidence to prove it - ice core samples etc.
And what are his most recent conclusions, Bobby? :roll

Once again - Brian misses my point. :roll :roll

thanks for the reminder

What happened to the 'peak oil' scenario?
Thought that was going to stop life as it was in about the year 2000 ?

They found more oil and they produce shale oil.

Brian -
my point that you missed:
most scientists had powerful evidence in the 1970s of an immediate ice age.
Most scientists now have powerful evidence of global warming.
A normal person would retain a small amount of skepticism.
You don't have any doubts.

Bobby, at the present moment the evidence points to Global Warming occurring. Until we see contrary evidence that actually stands up and is not produced by ratbag fools who couldn't string two sentences together let alone a coherent theory of why Global Warming isn't happening, you're barking up the wrong tree. I am not what Bogan and other Climate Denialists attempt to claim I am. I have no commitment to Climate Change. I merely read the evidence as it is presented to me. You OTOH appear to believe in theories which are over 50 years old and have been thoroughly debunked. :roll

Dear Brian,
In the 1970s -
The people who came with those ice age predictions used ice core samples
that cost millions of dollars to acquire - Antarctic etc.
(could it be $100 million.) - see the video.
They had plenty of other overwhelming evidence that was the consensus at the time.
The world had some of it's worst cold weather events that have ever been recorded.
It was touch and go as to whether the winter ice would retreat in the USA -
it was so bad.
Those people had PhDs - they were respected throughout the whole world.

Can you see any similarity with now?

The sun rises and sets every morning. The tides go in and out every day. The Earth warms and cools, warms and cools, roughly every 1 thousand years. Every 10,000 years the Earth experiences a "mild" and "short term" ice age lasting a thousand years or so.

The present warming period which we are experiencing is the tenth of the 10,000 year cycle and it is right on schedule. It differs from the previous nine from our normal 10,000 year cycle only because it coincided with the industrialisation of the human race. If the previous 9 warming/cooling cycles are a guide to our present warming period, the Earth will warm another 2 degrees before we plummet into another "mild" ice age, and that will be catastrophic.

Climate scientists in the late 20th century were concerned that this climate change to a new ice age had already started for good reason. That was, because from 1940 to 1970, Earth's temperatures began to fall steadily. This is how I knew that the graph presented earlier by Brian Ross on this topic, purporting to show that temperatures were rising steadily upwards against time, was an air brushed fabrication. It did not display this well known temperature fall. Who published Brian's false graph I do not know. But it is evidence that somebody is deliberately lying to promote a point of view by presenting false evidence.

Naturally, Brian fell for it hook, line, and sinker. He has done no research other than look up a few references which support his worldview. And he wants to believe it so much he will never take an unbiased view or an objective approach. His ideology is plain to see. Capitalism causes climate change and only socialism can save us.

You say
Who published Brian's false graph I do not know.

Do you have a link for that graph?
