A photo naked of me in the shower.

Post by Nicole » Thu Apr 11, 2019 7:43 pm

Perverts

I wish to cover off on some topics, several of which have already been cover3d on this board, in a holistic way, given we have an election coming up, and I can see none of the majors doing anything about it. This leaves me feeling disenfranchised and cynical.

1) Water. We have an abundance of water in the north, and serious droughts further south. This was perhaps best illustrated for me by the thousands of dead fish in the Murray-darling basin. I have done some reading on this and the issue is cost. Cant we cut some fat off of foreign aid and help our own people first? And yes, it may take 30years to pay off - so what? The problem is we have no statesmen with vision for our children and grandchildren.

2) China. They are buying up out farms,Ports, and electricity. When there is a global food shortage they will export from our farms, through our ports, and Australians will suffer

3) Retail. I know this has been covered in another thread. BigW, Ed Harry, Myer, David Jones and others all liquified or in trouble. The under 30s in particular shop online and companies and jobs will be lost to Asia

4) Population. Capitalism relies on perpetual growth. Australians are breeding at 1.6 children per couple, so the governments of both stripes are bringing in the hordes. Apart from the fact Australia is a fragile ecology losing many species of birds, bugs and animals due to humans, we are bringing in people with antithetical views to our own and they breed at much higher rates.

5) politicians. Both sides think nothing of stabbing elected PMs in the back. This is not democracy. In addition they lack long term statesmanship, and rather than thinking about future generations send off sound bites that sound good to a money hungry society. They do not think forward to what is best for our children and grandchildren.

6) Economy. IIRC are biggest export is coal. As the world turns to alternative forms of energy, our biggest export is a problem.

These are the things I see as our biggest issues, and the politicians are doing fuck all.

I’ll go get dressed now 8-)

"Nicole", "Nicole"...

First you swindle the perverts here of a photo (remember, I have seen you in the "flesh", so to speak, so I don't need a photo 8-) )

Secondly, my views on Chinese investment in Australia are well known here. Chinese investment is simply money which comes from China and is used to help develop Australia. It is no different from the investment we have received in the past from the UK, USA, Japan. Despite your fears, the Australian Government retains legislative control over Australia and it's assets. If there is a food shortage in Australia, what is to stop the Australian Government from resuming the Chinese control of the farms, ports, etc.? As Joh Bjelke Petersen once suggested of the critics of Japanese investment in Queensland, "They can't put into their back pocket and take it back to Japan, now can they?" Your fears verge on Sinophobia and are based on ignorance.

Third, Retail, your fears are basically groundless. Some jobs will be redistributed to overseas countries, other jobs will open up here. There will be a need for the retailers to still distribute their goods to their customers. There will be a need for the customers to be able to return their defective goods or get them fixed. It means that some shop assistants will require retraining.

Fourthly, Water. You're talking about the Bradfield Scheme. This was disprove decades ago. Bradfield used incorrect flow and evaporation rates for Australia, preferring to use European ones. His scheme would not work basically. All the water would evaporate. It would be easier and quicker and cheaper to build new cities in the Northern Half of the continent than it would be to ship water south.

Fifthly, population. Australians are breeding at between 1.9 to 2.2 children per mother for the majority cultural/religious groups. Yes, Capitalism does rely upon perpetual growth but that is being supplied at the moment through migration. Australia has doubled it's populations in the last 50 years - partly through migration and partly through births. Your claim of Australians breeding at a rate of 1.6 is incorrect.

Sixthly, politicians. Well not quite true but largely true. Replacing the PM is seen as a short-term solution to unpopularity. I think both major parties have learnt that only works until the next election. It won't stop but it will decrease in frequency I suspect. Statesmanship is a difficult concept to define. What I think you're looking for is leadership and as long as neither side grasps the nettles facing them, they will fail dismally.

Seventh, Economy. Coal is not our biggest export. Agriculture is, followed closely by mining (in general). Coal is not worth continuing with in the long term. It produces CO^2 and this causes Global Warming and that in turn causes Climate Change. What we need to do is decrease our export of coal and get other nations weaned off it. We need to adopt renewables in much greater quantities for our own use. Overseas, they need to also adopt renewables.
Nationalism is not to be confused with patriotism. - Eric Blair

1. Shooters Party won NSW on the water issue which is a worry in itself.

2. Is a major concern and should be to all Australians. I have brought this up before only to be ridiculed by certain 'progressives'. They think that the Chinese cannot abscond with these things in their pocket so 'nothing to see here'.

3. Not sure what we can do about online shopping. This is where the internet age has taken us. Buy from the big names through their websites when you want quality as most of them have online specials. I bought a Dyson from Big W a couple of weeks ago with a $200 discount. $7 for delivery.

4. Population and immigration should be our biggest issue but nothing will change until people start making it an issue.

5. Vote for smaller parties who take these issues into account and who seem to have more vision and seem to care about the Australia of the future. Sustainability Party, One Nation etc. Don't let the big 2 bury them.

6. Pppfffttt.

Short termed thinking by the pollies for the last 15 years has cost us a lot.

Vote for the smaller parties. The larger parties have tried and failed.

Yeah, but it’s in general 8-)

I’ve only had 2 experiences of porn. As a kid i found my dads stash of 70s playboy magazines. They seemed ok.

Then about 5 years ago I found some more recent magazines. I found those offensive towards women. They were degrading.

Someone sent me 3 porn VHS tapes many years ago. I got about 20 minutes in and barely made it that far. Pretty boring. Nurses - doctors, boss - secretary, teachers - students etc

I still have no idea who sent them. I've had some weird stuff show up in my letter box over the years
