Both felines and canines are special in their own ways.
But I do prefer dogs as they are just more fun.

Dogs are a lot of work - you have to walk them every day - rain, hail or shine.

Cats like to chill out but they will play at times.

Best would be to have both if you have a good backyard and plenty of time.

Yes dogs are more work whereas cats are very independent and quite the survivors!
We’ve had both, and they didn’t like each other, in the same room they kept an eye of each others whereabouts to avoid each other.
Each had their own unique amazingness and I miss them both.

What a pity the cat and dog couldn't be friends.
When I've seen Golden Retrievers or Labradors -
they always make friends with cats but it can take a few months and needs to be supervised.

I've had multiple cats and dogs living together in the same space and never had a problem. I loved them all.

He was lap cat.
He would sit on your lap and never get off
until you lifted him off and then he would put his claws in to resist moving.
