Terms and Conditions Form
The following are the Terms and Conditions (T & C) for submitting articles for possible publication on Political Animal Australia (PAA). In submitting your article, please specify whether your article is in the form of an ‘Editorial’ or a ‘Comment’. A copy of this form must be included with your submission (as a separate attachment or appended to your article) as your acknowledgment that you agree to the terms and conditions as outlined here.
General Terms & Conditions: 1. Authors must provide their real name and a valid return email address. Without this expression of your good faith your submission can not be considered. 2. The Administrator may need to communicate with you about your article. If your email address is not valid and the email is returned as undeliverable your article will not be published. 3. Articles will be published pseudonymously unless otherwise advised. If you wish to provide a pseudonym please do so or one will be created for you. We advise choosing your own which may or may not be your member login. 4. Your privacy is important to us and any details you supply will be treated with complete confidentiality. We do not sell or otherwise share email addresses or any contact details we may have for you. 5. There is no fee to submit articles to PAA. 6. PAA does not pay for articles; all articles are submitted for publication as freely given opinion or comment. 7. Articles must be the original work of the Author. Quotes from other authors are acceptable if appropriate attribution/citation is provided. 8. If your article is the subject of a plagiarism allegation it may be removed from PAA immediately at the discretion of the Administrator. 9. In submitting your article you grant the Owner of PAA a lifetime right to publish the article on Political Animal Australia. 10. Copyright to the article remains with the original Author and the Owner agrees not to publish the article anywhere else other than on the PAA web domain and associated websites without the written permission of the Author. 11. Once published the article may not be withdrawn. Please contact the Administrator though in the event of unforeseen circumstances or consequences of publication. 12. You may submit as many articles as you wish. 13. The article will be deemed to have been submitted by the Author. 14. Only English language articles can be considered. 15. The articles may or may not have been previously published by the Author. 16. There are no deadlines for submission, PAA is a dynamic website. 17. Entries must be electronically transmitted by email. No faxed or posted copy can be considered. Use the Contact Us link to ask for our email address. 18. All copies of submitted articles received become the property of PAA and will not be returned. 19. Once submitted, no changes may be made by the Author. For editing or other changes please contact the Administrator. 20. Anyone may submit an article though Authors must be aged 18 years of age or more. In submitting your article you declare yourself to be at least 18 years of age. 21. Articles which are primarily political comment will be given precedence over articles of a general nature though any topic legally able to be discussed may be commented on. 22. Please be respectful of others bearing in mind that politicians, as public figures, are fair game for public comment. 23. By submitting the article The Author indemnifies the Owner against subsequent claims of defamation. However the Owner will defend the Author’s right to free speech and any claims of defamation will need to be substantiated by the complainant. 24. Once published the article may be archived indefinitely. 25. The submission of your article along with a copy of these Terms and Conditions is your declaration that you agree to the Terms & Conditions as outlined here. 26. Submissions which comply with the T & C will be considered for publication. The decision to publish rests solely with the Administrator and no correspondence will be entered into regarding that decision. 27. Breaching these conditions may result in the removal of the article from the website.
Articles can be either ‘Comment’ or ‘Editorial. A Comment will be an article commenting on another article or editorial on the website, on the blog or on the forum. They will also be comments of a general nature and be of a more informal nature. Comments should be between 250 and 800 words though there is considerable flexibility at the discretion of the Administrator. An Editorial will be an opinion piece and will be more formally structured. An Editorial should be between 500 and 1500 words though there is considerable flexibility at the discretion of the Administrator. Please stipulate the type of article when submitting. Format of submissions: 28. Articles to be typed using any common font, any size and will be re-formatted for publication. 29. Comments to be no less than 250 words and no more than 800 words. Flexibility will be given. 30. Editorials to be no less than 500 words and no more than 1500 words. Flexibility will be given. 31. Submissions must be emailed. Contact the Owner using the Contact Us link to get the email address. By submitting your article along with a copy of the T & C as outlined here you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
