Canberra grift

Post by Bobby » Mon Dec 08, 2025 11:34 pm

The Canberra grift is bad but what makes it worse is
that it's all with over a $trillion of borrowed money.

Our grandchildren and their children will be paying it off 50 years from now.

The politicians and public servants are irresponsible,
reckless grifters, confidence tricksters and parasites.

Prime minister's office approved Anika Wells's almost-$100,000 flights

The prime minister's office approved last-minute flight changes for Communications Minister Anika Wells and two staffers that cost taxpayers almost $100,000, Anthony Albanese has confirmed amid an ongoing expenses furore.

Ms Wells has been under fire since it emerged during Senate estimates she had spent $94,827 on three business-class flights to New York, where she delivered a speech on the incoming social media ban on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

She was initially scheduled to travel with the prime minister for the September meeting, but delayed her departure when news of the Optus Triple Zero (000) outage broke.

The minister has repeatedly defended her spending, insisting it falls within the guidelines, as the Coalition called for an independent review of her expenses.

Wasting hard earned tax payers money should be a crime -

punishable by life in prison with no parole.

It's really a public opinion of ethics against established Rules.
No Party will support the public gripe against it. This has been going on for 50 years.

I want every penny's worth of my tax payers money spent on worthwhile causes -

not grifted away on perks for politicians.

It reminds me of Bronwyn and her $5,000 helicopter joy rides.

Bishop paid it all back and made sure her future travels were minimal in cost. She was one of the rare good ones that learned from an 'ethical' mistake, not a rule mistake.

But didn't she have a lovely time while it lasted? :D
