The major parties are performing abysmally. The Greens might be portrayed as pariahs, but they are still a viable third party. The general population is becoming increasingly disillusioned with the major parties. They'll be back up to a steady 12% before the next election.

I don’t know where you get that from but it is not true. The Greens performance relating to boat people (“Let them drown”) pissed off a lot of their support base. Milne and SHY are driving a continual drift down in Greens support.

You should hope not...ALP rely on Greens to be able to get to their 44-47%
Without them, ALP is more fucked than they are with them...at least for the short term after that, both lefty parties will be fucked
