Why are you even bothering to bring up with the RAN or the RAA when you're talking about an incident that occured at a facility run by your Department of Immigration and Citizenship? And before you say anything dumb about the military providing security to the Manus DIAC facility, those services are being performed by a British private security firm called G4S, who bought out the US security firm Wackenhut.

Your detention centers are being run by a company primary known in the US for providing security to shopping malls and you wonder why things like this happen. If it wasn't for the fact that someone died because of this gross lapse of judgement on the part of your government I'd find it fucking hilarious, but instead I'll have to content myself with mild amusement.

Manus Island's police chief has blasted the Abbott government's running of the immigration detention camp on the island, suggesting the recent fatal violence could have been avoided.

Police commander Alex N'Drasal said the protests were sparked by the failure to act on a list of grievances raised by the asylum seekers. He said the Australian government should improve the way the detention centre is run.
