I think we should reach a compromise here. Skippy's right - the PM is very low paid in comparison to CEO's and many of the bureaucrats running our state services get a lot more than she does - as well as bonuses.

Yes it's true - many of us are apathetic. All these horrible things are being done to our beautiful country and we do nothing - mainly because there isn't much we can do. Even showing our disapproval at the polls only gives us a choice of tweedledum or tweedledee.

And the math's is definitely off. If she received 160% last year on say $350,000 - that should have brought her salary up to about $900,000 - then another 100% on top of that should see Ms. Gillard receiving $1,800,000 pa which does seem a little bit high.

If Gillard already received her 160% pay rise last November 5, this and is about to have it doubled... yet our media advise her annual salary will be an estimated $330,000,... go figure.

100% + 160% = 260%

Divide this by $330,000

= $126 923.077
