It is clear to me that you have no concept of a risk and how risks should be dealt with. Only one of the standard risk mitigation strategies is to "Accept" the risk and do SFA.

Thinking people are just saying... we need to plan to prevent a significant impact on us and our environment.

What is the risk of significant impact? Detail it, panic merchant...

The risk of waiting 50 years until you can prove your theory is only 0.6% of GNP as I have explained. It can be easily caught up from there should you be proven right, so it is a cost worth paying.
