Keating was first person after Whitlam to reform economy (just think about it: Labor PM Curtin makes fundamental reforms to our economy, it then has to wait for Whitlam to start further reforms (Menzies, Holt, Gorton, McMahon did exactly what?) and then we had to wait until Keating.

What stops Keating being higher up list of best PMs is that he did most of his reforms as Treasurer.

Considering HM of our prosperity since 2001 has come from China we should be bloody grateful to Whitlam: he visited China & recognised its government. Stupid Lieberals here were begging Nixon to put his trip off till after our election so they could bag Whitlam for visiting commo China! Nixon went ahead with his trip and showed Whitlam for a visionary!

I think you are a bit of a loon JM.

You know why? Because you are such a licker, that the ALP can only ever be excited by your presence on the blogosphere.

As far as I'm concerned, the ALP has its head up its bum. There has been some comparisons here in the past about the just what was driving the ALP in its bid for the podium. Turns out, its science was based on thirty year old Sci-Fi authors, it used left-wing code talking to & Brutopia power snatch government, it still has no narative, it awaits a mighty black America to bounce itself off, is/was involved in strange great game activities of ill repute, and many other shitful issues.

And, like in the commy thread I put up, the Left wing lunatics think that one something has been debated, they have thusly deleted the matters broguth forth from history. Only a complete moron can expect this to occur.

I could run a kindy better than they can think, even the entire ALP collevtive.

Its all well and good JM to slag me off, or imbue your meager self with psuedo-importance and proclaim non-egagement on the grounds of yuor brain being bigger and better than mine.

But remember JM, the ALP is a simple gang, does not deserve the hero worship you attach to it, the mobsters in the form of ALP minnions dont deserve God-like status, and Australia itself is way above all these things mentioned here -even me.

I think you assign too much importance in too few places JM.

Unlike Sheepthought (hya Sheepy :) ) I do not toe the party line. We should have taken a stronger stance on the ETS and so be in a position to pressure other states, China & USA in particular, to do more to curb GHG emissions.

A thicky like you has not noticed the way the ALP, esp under Rudd, has been distancing itself away from the trade unions which don't quite cover 19% of private sector workers. You keep on blathering on about Marxism and "Teh Left" [Spelling Nazi, another deliberate misspelling :) ] when the ALP since the 1980's have moved to the fucking RIGHT of where Pig Iron Bob was when that idiot was PM.

Christsake, have a look around you, read the odd quality paper (which means the Financial Review) etc else you will be just the Forum buffoon!

My pet name for Howard is Howard the Coward his stunning record on social justice issues simply speaks for itself and I think actually would probably give Nixon a run for his money and Bush who used the same strategy. Howard not turning up to the apology for Aboriginal people was perhaps the most pathetic act of an ex prime minister I have seen in a long time. Shame Howard. Shame. Not a fan. In fact I think that the public have to keep all Prime Ministers/Leaders of any country/Leaders of anything on a very short leash, do not give them an inch or they will take a mile but like all training they can be trained to behave in a responsible manner. Bob Brown for PM!
