Bloomberg puts it in perspective:
Australian Employers Add 38,900 Jobs As Currency Jumps

Australia unexpectedly added workers last month, capping the best January-to-May period of hiring in five years and prompting traders to pare bets on interest-rate cuts as the local dollar stages its strongest rally this year.

The number of people employed rose by 38,900 in May, after a revised 7,000 gain in April that was lower than previously reported, the statistics bureau said in Sydney today. The median estimate was for no change in employment in a Bloomberg News survey of 23 economists. The jobless rate rose to 5.1 percent from a revised 5 percent in April as participation increased.

“Despite the moderate uptick in unemployment, this is a stellar jobs report and paints a very healthy picture of the labor market,” said Katrina Ell, an economist at Moody’s Analytics in Sydney.

With GDP that’s about one-tenth the size of the U.S., Australia last month added more than half the number of jobs that the world’s largest economy did. Australia’s unemployment rate is less than half the 11 percent level in the euro area.

You should try it some time Monk, it's quite humbling.

If you look at the economic indicators released today and yesterday then you can see the very good reasons for voting Labor next year. In the next couple of years you likely will be able to connect to the NBN and your Newstart allowance will likely be boosted in the next Budget.

You should be on your knees worshipping at the feet of your Lord and saviour John Howard

It is all because of him and Costello

...and it is likely less than 26% will vote for the current pieces of shit

There is a reason why Monk has always voted Liebor

He's likely to be an illegal immigrant and with two failed businesses and nearing pension age, he is in it for his own self interest because he was too useless to provide for himself

Yes, the credit fuelled consumption boom IS down to H&C, I wouldn’t boast about that tho.

Yes, the endless middleclass welfare IS down to Howard, I wouldn’t boast about that tho.

The reason we are doing well is that Henry/Stevens/Rudd/Swan/Tanner/Gillard responded quickly and correctly to the collapse of Lehman Bros in 2008. The money to pensioners, the HIP and BER programs kept people employed, prevented businesses from collapsing and kept confidence up. The bank guarantees of deposits and borrowings kept our banks functioning when all over the world banks were crashing, e.g. the Royal Bank of Scotland.

So people kept their employment, businesses kept functioning and we are now growing at a solid rate again: the economy is 8.8% bigger than in 2007, the only one that has grown.

The Budget is about to return to surplus. Look around the world, no surpluses there! The return to surplus is possible because we did not enter recession and because Swan has been cutting swathes of middleclass welfare from the Budget.

The NBN is already attracting lots of data centres because business big and small will be able to store their data offline.

Those two idiots Howard and Costello had nothing to do with any of this!

Yeah, $20bn when all other economies where in debt up to their eyeballs like where Liebor like to send us...even when the terms of trade are far more favorable to the goose

Actually, terms of trade have been dropping as prices for our minerals decline.

So you obviously can’t refute a word I wrote. Our economy is zooming, alone of all developed economies!

How far have our minerals dropped since 2007 when your "heroes" were installed?

You think they just kept rising? Sometime last year commodity prices started dropping on the LME and other markets. Recently, China has defaulted on some orders.
