Thought he might have stood for war profiteers? I mean, it is fucking obvious! (He stole the morphine from the first aid kits on the bombers!
And antiwar books serve a very good purpose! Any fool can get the tanks rolling but it is a LOT harder to get them out again, as the brain damaged Bush and his Security Advisor hawk found when they started a war that served no purpose. Victory, bah!

It is very easy to get tanks out, just put your hands up and become a slave.
Victory is the hard part.

Oh man, if they had gone where Patton wanted to go those 40-odd divisions would have been wiped out! He had no idea of strategy or logistics, you know, the boring bits of warfare, don't you worry about that, CHARGE!!!
It was Eisenhower who split the allied force and allowed hitler to wage his battle of the bulge. I wage that battle too sometimes, beer is nice but fattening

It was Eisenhower heeding political advise from Washington that Monty's slow advance and troubles needed more fuel and material, this all but stopped Patton from stabbing Fascist Germany right in the heart, the German's really feared Patton and so and rejoiced at the divide Allied resources strategy.

"Well, they have their schedule and I have mine."
Re: Do those who send people off to war
Eisenhower was the Allied Supremo at this stage, not Monty.

Oh garbage! Maybe one day you will actually start thinking Frogen! Many, many 'police actions' "became bogged down" many wars took longer and ended differently than the fool at the top thought, history is littered with examples.JW Frogen wrote:It is very easy to get tanks out, just put your hands up and become a slave.

Remember the brit army sent up the Tigris?
They were wiped out to a man, only the doctor was allowed to live to tell what happened. A town called Kut (to the immense hilarity of Dutch school boys.)
Starting a war is easier than finishing one or withdrawing from one.

Well, by that incredibly stupid statement you have confirmed everyone's opinion of you and also confirmed that you've never read the book.
Good work Colonel. You'll make General yet!
You vote, you lose!
