The science of global warming is established beyond all doubt, so non-emitting power sources are needed (also other stuff like not breeding like rabbits etc.)
Nuclear: possibly the new fast integrated breeder reactors: with conventional reactors there is like 30 years supply of uranium left--it is easy to find geophysical evidence for uranium deposits, radiation! Nuclear cannot possibly supply all our power, takes too long to build and decommission and costs absolute trillions to apply on a big scale. Always has some waste problem, tho not much with the fast integrated breeder reactors.
Wind power--this is really second hand solar power, the heat from the sun providing the energy
Solar power. Solar collectors may eventually become practical, not a heavily subsidised yuppy-ish option. Solar hot water much more practical. But, the atmosphere removes a lot of the energy from sunlight so why not collect it from ABOVE the atmosphere? Think of all the data Hubble has provided because it is above the distorting, energy-sapping atmosphere.
A solar collector, sending energy back to earth. Science fiction? Or hard headed practicality?
