I did watch a bit of that Sky News debate (mostly on mute) .... yawn! People still seem to think that all the FREE stuff they are offering comes from the huge bucket of money at parlie house and not through their taxes! The bloke who offers the most FREE stuff wins. Dumb people.

When you reach a stage in your life where you have lost all trust in politicians because of their lies, their cheating, their lurks and their perks, their incompetence, you tend to have absolutely no respect for any of them.
I have seen it all my life.
Politicians are the scum of the earth.
They have all the benefits, and they legislate for the oligarchs and the elites.
They sell off our country to overseas countries like China, and plunder our superannuation funds, all the while
creating lurks and perks for themselves such as non means tested political pensions etc...
And scum like Hockey, who has a lovely cushy job in NY introduce legislation in the middle of the nite
which allows APRA to activate a bail in if a bank collapses, taking depositers moneys to bail out the bank.
Did you know that state politicians, if their superannuation fund does not reach a certain percentage in asset growth, they simply
top up the shortfall out of Treasury funds.....
I once posted a list of all the state owned assets in qld which have been sold off to overseas interests...it runs in billions
of dollars.......
And then there is the billions of dollars donated to overseas countries, out of our taxes.
We are taxed to the eyeballs, with gst on top of income tax, and every other fkn tax you can think of, whilst the scum
sit back with the snouts in the trough...
I have no time for politicians...
They rank one rung below second hand car salesman and real estate salesman...who are also scum...
I have nothing against this country...only the scum that run it.....
I could go on and on...but somehow I think its a waste of time....and I havent mentioned the absolute waste of money on F35s and submarines....

I suppose it's about perspective.

For the person who works hard and suddenly gets made redundant and in debt with a mortage and other loans, I would say life would suck for them at the moment.

Or how about the rape victim awaiting justice while they splash out money on lawyers they can't afford, while the court process takes years and years.. only to find the rapist has one year in jail with parole in two weeks (that was a smartarse exaggeration in case somebody takes that seriously and nitpicks at it)

We may not be in a third world country suffering poverty and discomfort (though some Australians are, and these you-beaut politicans that people so worship don't give a flying fuck, only pretending to when they want your vote.)

We live in a society now where real problems are brushed under the rug in favour of apathy. We have petty little creature comforts, like 4K televisions, a $5 latte at the local coffee shop, or reality TV shows, to distract us from what really goes on behind the scenes. I could say that personally, my life is great -- I have a part time job that pays considerably well, and 4 days off during the week where I can engage with the hobbies I enjoy. Just because I have this, it doesn't mean that there isn't something seriously wrong with people, society, and the very thing that runs it. It just means I am distracted and it doesn't affect me right now.

When the economy goes to shit, we will all lose our creature comforts, that has weakened us. And we will all suffer for it, because we elected morons to make those decisions for us.

FYI, I am voting for One Nation this year, Cods. The moment Liberals did that preference deal with Palmer was my green light. One Nation cops it left, right, and centre (literally) from media and politicans alike.

I would prefer a party where a candidate's only crime was saying perverted things about women at a strip club, as opposed to a fat fuck who can't afford to pay his workers yet somehow can splash out on a political party that previously failed.
