The Prime Minister, Environment Minister Peter Garrett, Employment Participation Minister Mark Arbib and Assistant Energy Efficiency Minister Greg Combet received letters this morning from the Senate's environment committee requesting them to attend the inquiry for questioning........

.........The inquiry chair, Liberal senator Mary-Jo Fisher, last night warned that the Senate committee would consider taking steps to compel Mr Rudd and his ministers to turn up if they did not do so voluntarily.

Senator Fisher said the committee had taken the extraordinary step of calling them to give evidence because many questions about the scheme remained unanswered, including what safety warnings were given to them and when......
