Possum discusses briefly the govt loan to a fund to keep commercial property developments building. (Sheepy thinks the govt is donating this money hehehe) and asks: how is this to be treated in the budget and would the interest earned on the $2Bn improve the budget position?

Re: Complete analysis of the Obama campaign
There were a few critical moments for Obama during the general election.
First the test of his promise not to play politics as usual, not to run attack ads. Yet he did and the press did not call him on it, this gave him an indication that he could still talk a political rhetoric of change and a new type of politics while using the same old tried and true tactics.
Second his betrayal of a long-standing commitment to support public funding of campaigns. Once the big money donors started to hop on the Obama train (contrary to the Obama myth most of his money came the same way Bush’s money came, from large, wealthy donors) Obama broke this promise. Once again the press gave him a free pass and he knew there would be no problem raising money the old fashioned way while once again simultaneously using rhetoric condemning the old politics.
Third the financial crises. McCain seeing how serious it was and worried that millions would loose their jobs, witnessing an impasse between the Republicans who do not like big spending, the Democrats who were dragging out negotiations knowing it was helping their election prospects and a President Bush desperately trying to get a compromise package through rushed to Washington to try to help get the Republicans on board.
Obama stayed out of it all together, knowing it was his party that created the crises and that the crises was ironically helping his election prospects.
The press, once again fawning on Obama framed this cynical sit on the sideline tactic and let others take all the heat, cool leadership.
It was cool politics, but hardly leadership.

None of that post makes any sense whatsoever Frogen. Deal with it, the Republicans lost, point the finger at your own camp
The Mayans predicted the end of the world in December 2012, but they didn't see the Spanish coming

Oh my!
Pasta making the argument that Obama had not merit, the Republicans gave him the election.
See, I see it differently.
See my previous post and think this time.
