Recession eating

Post by Jovial Monk » Tue Jan 27, 2009 5:59 pm

chan 10 news said Mcdonalds is booming: food is quick and cheap. Not as cheap as making a meal at home, of course, but offers more excitement.

Also not best nutritional value, but it is those with money who get concerned with that, not when your arse is showing through your pants.

George Orwell wrote an article on this phenomenon, but I don't have my books to hand.

If it gets any worse people will revert to drinking home brew.

Maybe Rudd should give them some handouts so they can afford a decent beer like XXXX.

DEMS FIGHTING WURDS!

Hmmm my definition of beer is

"A fermented beverage made mainly from cereal, most of which is malted." Cereals are mostly barley, with wheat, corn, oats & rye as supporting actors. Hoegaarden white (wit) is 45% unmalted wheat & rolled oats JUST scrapes in being called a beer!

Crap, mainstream beers like fourex, tooheys etc are made from more sugar than barley malt.

Sorry, XXXX is not even a BEER!

Not to worry funky Monk if this global recession lasts for years you will see a return to the home veggie garden big time.

Hell, people might even start whole farms. (My first mother in law was a head start teacher in Puerto Rico, she said she went to one project (public housing) where the residents had literally set up a communal farm in the public space, with pigs and a cow, all stolen!

The police just let it be rather than risk the riot.

As much as the socio-political Left in Auslund hate, despise and attack Big Inc,

They sure activated one corporation to help them replace the Liberals. That was Woolworths.

Reemember in all the ailses of Woolies in the lead-up to the elections, there were labels and signs everywhere announcing "Rollback".

Perhaps Woolies has a majority ownership in Auslund. Perhaps too, they are Left affiliated, say Unions Inc, or Mr I'malp. Anyways, as the economy and thus the diversity of Auslund economies shrink, the profits of Big Inc Woolies will grow in accord.

And will the Left complain about that? I think not.
