A place he checked out yesterday, decked out as a wholesale nursey, had an asking price of $1.2 million (or more) not so long ago, but he reckons he can get it for $850K.
Where? Please don't say somewhere in QLD.
A place in SEQld, not quite on the coast.

Reckons he going to put a couple of Gold Coast units on the market soon, you're welcome to those.

I'd be happy for you to educate me.

In the meantime, consider this statement from NAB chief financial officer...
THE bull run in house prices is set to run out of steam as investors realise that credit costs are dwarfing anaemic yields, according to a senior banker.

National Australia Bank finance chief Mark Joiner yesterday said the property market was fully valued and likely to languish.

"I don't think property can go up from here," he said.

"It's at the top of the range on affordability. It's well out of line internationally."

NAB holds a significant percentage of all Australian mortgages. Maybe one of Australia's big four made that statement just for shits and giggles, seeing as it's April fool's day and all.

Actually, I was kind of hoping that IQ would chip in with the volumes of wisdom that he's no doubt accrued from all his years of experience as a savvy property investor. The eye-rolling thing doesn't really do it - can we get a wank! wank! emoticon?

And I volunteered to fly my private jet to Japan and had to dodge waves of deadly radiation as I heroically rescued workers from the crippled nuclear plant.

See how easy it is to bullshit from behind a keyboard?

2 investment properties bought in Perth back in 1998 @ ~$145K each. Both tenanted and have been constantly
Current value is ~ $1.2M
The only downside has been the negative gearing aspect has shrunk with the increase in rents

Suck it, you commie fag

Got enough of those held by family members who want to sell because they've proven to be very poor investment options.

Personally speaking though .. I wouldn't touch anything on the Gold Coast. And I never buy units or townhouses or villas either. I am not into buying air space.

One's leaesed out, the other's used as a holiday flat.
Originally stuck with industrial sites (factories), then got into rural and comercial (warehouses), and eventually despite advising against residential sites in the past, has picked some of those up too. Although usually residentials are houses, which he has a tendancy to jackup and brick over.
Generally, whatever he touches, turns to gold.

Yeah .. my rels have a few units like that over there within those capacities also.

I'm in Sydney and I only ever consider Sydney domestic real estate as that is my field of specialist knowledge. Also, the domestic real estate market here is large and has great returns IF you know what you're buying and where.

Your father sounds like an interesting guy. I wonder if real estate is his passion also. There are a few of us like that around you know lol :)
