I thought women wore slacks and men wore trousers. In the 70's and 80's many workplaces insisted you wore skirts. After wearing them for a couple of decades - I hated them. Jeans and slacks are more comfortable. Skirts, especially short ones, are for young females with good legs.

I like a nice tailored suit on a male, but not the super skinny ones. They might be trendy, but they're not flattering.

I remember my Mum using the term slacks in the 70s. I call the things I wear over my legs trousers, pants or jeans.
