My Mother used to say "
when I drop off the vine", which really annoyed me, and "
I'll be dead so I won't have to worry" if I ever tried to talk to her about anything political or environmental. That annoyed me too.

That's sad ... I remember my Mother ringing me at 9.30 one night (she got me out of bed) and she said "Guess what I have done?" My response "Got married?" and she said "No, sold the house". She had downsized. As she should have done. She died at 75, heart attack ...
