It's a good thing I'm not a foodie because everything I eat will have to be gluten free. :x

But at least it will be healthy - and there will always be masses of vegies.

I think veges are over hyped by the media -
there is very little nutrition in them.

I had a cousin - a long time ago who ended up in hospital
and nearly died of malnutrition after eating only vegetables for 6 months.
He basically ate what everyone else in his family was eating except for the meat.
He also had anemia - iron deficiency, and was as white as a ghost.

Animals that eat grass and vegetables have to eat huge amounts to get enough nutrition
and they even have 2 stomachs to do all the digestion properly.
Cows, goats, sheep have to eat all day long to survive.
Meat eaters like cats and dogs need only one small meal a day of meat.

Veges and fruits offer all the things beyond just nutrition, that meats do not.
All those odd and unique chemicals that don't come with meat.
People who live off just meat - also have a decline in health as well.
Sadly, we are doomed to need 'both'.

I eat meat every day but try to keep it to 100g. As they say, you should only eat as much meat as fits in the palm of your hand. I eat red meat 3 times a week and fish/chicken the rest. But I love vegies and eat plenty - don't underestimate them. They are absolutely vital to health. One of my nephews' wives is a vegetarian who also eats fish and eggs as well - so she's really a pescatarian. She allows their three kids to eat meat like their father because she says it's a personal decision to go vegetarian and something they can choose to do when they're older. Another nephew's wife is a vegan. She's absolutely stunning to look at now - but I think it will eventually catch up with her the older she gets.

Yep, a well balanced diet is the key to health. You don't need a lot of meat but it's important for iron - and red meat is the best source. Iron from vegies is not well absorbed so if you're eating spinach, you need to include something like tomatoes for Vit C in the meal to help with absorption. Fruit is good but not too much because it's acid and that's not good for the enamel on your teeth. And not too many carbs!! Sugar, especially.

I like to have fish every other day - canned tuna or mackerel or some fresh salmon.
Some red meat twice a week is good.
I also like eggs - I'll have a bacon, egg and cheese toasted sandwich for breakfast sometimes.
That will keep my going all day till dinner time at 8.00pm.

Wow - I could never last from breakfast to 8pm! I would be starved to death by that time. I have to have lunch. And 8 pm is a bit too late for dinner for me because you shouldn't go to bed on an almost full stomach - which would be still the case if you were going to bed at 10 pm as solid food remains in the stomach for about 4 hours. I like to have dinner no later than 7pm.

My fish preference is barramundi. Although both barra and salmon are farmed these days which stresses me out no end considering they're full of waste, pesticides, antibiotics, parasites and disease.

Such is the case when you have 8.5 billion clamouring hordes of people to feed. That is our whole problem with the world today - too many people.
