I am amazed with the misconceptions some have about being on facebook.

I am on it with family and friends and have tight security settings, quite enjoy seeing what is happening, who birthday it is etc and lots more I will expand on after the doomsayers reply

Are you on facebook and what are your thoughts?

Yes I am on Facebook. I don't know why people are so paranoid about it. I like looking at the pics that friends post, those who have long moved away and I rarely see.

You just need to be savvy and keep your security tight. Posting every thought that comes in to your head, as many do, is just asking for trouble but it is not the norm.

I get so many emails, particularly spam, that I sometimes don't look there for a week and then just delete the lot. At least on Facebook the only people who can contact me are the ones I choose to :lol:

I have friends on Facebook that I have known since I was 10 years old. We have grown apart for various reasons and live all over Aus (and the world) and it is nice to see what they are doing with their lives now without having to actually be a part of their lives.

It is nice when people can use the internet for other purposes than fighting with each other.
