There are four basic views of Russia in China. (Reddit )

1)Russia is China's ally in fighting the west, so we should support them. If you don't support Russia, then you support the west, which means you're an enemy of the state or is brainwashed by western propoganda. Russia's war against Ukraine is justified because Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union so this is really just a unification war. Zelensky is a puppet of the west and a Nazi that should be defeated.

2) Russia has betrayed its glorious tradition of communism and get corrupted into capitalism, but I hate the west even more so I support Russia.

3)Russia is China's ally in suppressing freedom and democracy. The Chinese government align with them but the people should hope for a Russian defeat.

4) Russia is China's rival. They robbed a lot of land from us (you can google the Qing map), threatened to use nuclear missles on China, and now they're supporting India. Plus, Russia is losing the war and they suck. We should abandon this sunken boat before they turn on us.

1 and 2 sometimes overlap, together they're about 70%; 3 and 4 are the rest 30%.

So China hates the West even more than it hates an old foe ( Russia) despite Russia taking land from them.

The question is why?

Why does China hate the West so much, is it differences in our political ideologies, com -vrs- cap or Chinese government brainwashing?

I think it's a case of their own government fearing it's own citizens, should they all suddenly wakeup and realise that answers 3 and 4 are actually correct. They will then overthrow their communist brainwashing government and break-through their censorship firewall and realise that their Western foes aren't the real enemy here, it's the enemy within.

Either way, I don't fancy holidaying in China anytime soon, it's a shame, because the Chinese people who for generations have lived here among us in Ballarat Australia, are rather lovely, and China is such a pretty and interesting country.
