The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced the assassination of Muhammad Oda, the new commander of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. The militant was fatally wounded in airstrikes in Gaza City.

Muhammad Oda was considered one of the organizers of the October 7 attack and terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens. Prior to his appointment, he served as the group's chief of intelligence. The Israeli Armed Forces believe that Oda assumed the command after the assassination of Izz ad-Din al-Haddad in mid-May.
