What Ukraine has is scorched earth; what it doesn’t have is rare earths. Surprisingly, many people — not least, US President Donald Trump — seem convinced the country has a rich mineral endowment. It’s a folly.
The hype about the Ukrainian rare earths began with Ukrainians themselves. Desperate to find a way to engage Trump, they miscalculated presenting the then-incoming president a “victory plan” in November that talked up — way, way up — the potential of the country’s mineral resources. Soon, they lost control of the narrative.

The US Geological Survey, an authority on the matter, doesn’t list the country as holding any reserves. Neither does any other database commonly used in the mining business.

Simply put, “follow the money” doesn’t work here. At best, the value of all the world’s rare-earth production rounds to $15 billion a year — emphasis on “a year.” That’s equal to the value of just two days of global oil output. Even if Ukraine had gigantic deposits, they wouldn’t be that valuable in geo-economic terms.

Say that Ukraine was able, as if by magic, to produce 20% of the world’s rare earths. That would equal to about $3 billion annually. To reach the $500 billion mooted by Trump, the US would need to secure 150-plus years of Ukrainian output.

Ukraine 'was' the food bowl of Europe with its quality dark rich soil.
But now it's full of metal shrapnel and landmines.

I guess the quality of its soil is due to the amount of dead bodies it's been fertilised by, down through the centuries.

It's called Chernozem and it's what Hitler was after too.

What’s so special about Ukraine’s black soil?
Ukraine was looking to increase grain exports to world markets when Russia launched an assault.

At the heart of Ukraine’s agriculture is its highly fertile soil. Nearly a quarter of the world's most fertile soil, known as Chernozem, is located in Ukraine.

Chernozem is black soil rich in organic matter called ‘humus,’ which is made up of decomposed plants. More than 65 percent of arable land in Ukraine is composed of Chernozem deposits, making it ideal for farming.

Ukraine's surface area under cultivation is vast — so vast, that, at 32 million hectares, it's larger than Italy.

And Eurogays now so they can feed ever increasing migrants numbers, plus Western elites have steady supply of body parts for good price.

Little is said about how most European nations were banking on (supporting under the table) Russia taking over Ukraine and giving them better deals (as if  ) of food produce than what Ukraine was dealing out.
Hence why Putin was convinced that it was just a mere formality of just rolling in and taking over.
What failed for all of them was that the Ukrainian opposition that was to help Russia from within failed and that the Ukrainian soldiers and people began their Guerilla fightback.
The biggest thorn though was the Media's sensationalism of these Ukranian 'heroes' filmed in action and it snowballed from there.
It seems Ukraine didn't appease NATO, those Euro nations that wanted Russia to take it over and let alone Russia itself.

Good on em I say. Even if they are still ex Soviet savages.

For the last 150 years I think?
