Her family would have known this, though thought it more lucrative to play the victim card.

Perhaps this is why they withheld the details of her mental illness until they cashed the cheques.

Should they be forced to pay it all back in light of their not having been honest with the media when leading us to believe she was perfectly ok before the hoax-call, and that the call and hospital management were responsible for her tragic death?

Snap out of it Boxy... it's clear, this woman had a mental illness, this and tried to take her life at least on two occasions well before the DJ's hoax call.

And it's clear her family knew this all along though saw fit to play the persecuted victim card and in doing so, made a lot of money.

They should be forced to donate it all back to a charity such as Beyond Blue, as I'm sure that's what Jacintha would have really wanted.

Jacintha Saldanha, who took her own life days after the call from Australian DJs pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles, attempted to commit suicide in December 2011 during a family visit to India, according to reports in Indian media.

She survived after being rushed to hospital but tried to commit suicide again just nine days later.

Ms Saldanha, 46, spent several days in intensive care before receiving psychiatric treatment and being prescribed a course of powerful antidepressants for nine months.

The hospital would have known they had an 'unwell' member of staff on deck, which begs the question, what was their duty of care to both their unwell staff and those entrusted with her care?

There had been problems at that hospital for quite some time, she'd lodged grievances against fellow colleagues this and felt her complaints were not being addressed adequately by senior staff, management.

Was it appropriate that she be delegated with the responsibility of manning a hospital switchboard for the royal family in her fragile state?


Of course, this hospital would rather not discuss their severe staff shortages, this and how they have a reputation for exploiting foreign workers on 'certain' kinds of visas.

Hence nurse Jacintha was working double shifts and long weeks...this and attending to duties she was not qualified to be doing to begin with.
