Most Dangerous Place in the World

some would say this island reminds them of this board

Off-Limits "Snake Island" Is Full of Venomous Pit Vipers

Off the shore of São Paulo lies an island forbidden to visitors, by order of the Brazilian Navy. They have a good reason: Ilha Queimada Grande, "Snake Island," is covered with deadly Golden Lancehead vipers.

Unique to the island, this species of serpent is believed to have the fastest acting venom of any Lancehead viper. The effects of its bite include bleeding orifices, brain hemorrhaging, and kidney failure.

The density of snakes on the island is estimated at one per square meter, many of which are found overhead, hanging from the trees. In other words: death, every 3 feet, in all directions. Locals in the coastal towns near the Queimada Grande happily recount grisly tales about the island. In one, a fisherman unwittingly wanders onto the island to pick bananas and is bitten only moments after stepping ashore. The fisherman manages to stumble back to his boat before dying in a pool of his own blood.

Lovely. had a quick google and could not find what they eat.

With that density there must be something in abundance they eat.

WTF is it. is it sea faring?

Not sure the snake population could be as dense as claimed. I mean, do the snakes eat each other?

One per square metre? hmmm, bit denser than I'd be comfortable with.

Some snake canibalise. I deliberately encourage 3 large Red bellied Black snakes to hang around because they eat baby Brown snakes.
Got a Brown snake skin in my wood pile yesterday.

A lot of snakes eat insects, especially when small.
My guess is there's a large bird and rodent population.

Mate of mine showed me a photo he took of a 12 ft Carpet python while on a pig hunt around Blackwater.
Had a huge bulge in the middle. Suspected to be a small pig.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

No way I could relax in a place with lots of snakes. I killed a copperhead (poison) that was slithering out of a birdhouse the other week and have been watching my step ever since and that was the first snake I have seen in years.

May be cold enough at night to burn the leaves on my banana plants, but the days out my way are hot enough to bring the snakes out.
Heaps of them. Mostly Blacks and Browns, the Blacks all seem to be fat, so pregnant or well fed. The Browns I've been seeing are mostly skinny 4 footers, but the colour/hue varies considerably. For example last weekend I took a bloke from Bathurst on a pig hunt along and on ridges around Gin Gin Ck. In one side creek a Brown snake was light with a silvery hue or sheen through or over the brown. An hour later on the other side of Gin Gin Ck a Brown came down the embankment that was so dark it almost looked black.

Got a photo of a fat Red belly in grass beside my creek, and the shadows from the grass make the snake appear striped (like a Swamp Tiger or Bandy Bandy). But I forgot to bring the USB stick.

So I am assuming Rudd will be suggesting this as a perfect place for offshore processing. Cheap and effective and absolutley no chance any of the refugees will be able to settle in Australia!!!
