Paleo-Medi Diet the best

Post by Jasin » Sat May 11, 2024 12:25 am

Skip to 26 mins to get to the point.

Seems we were at our most healthiest in regards to diet when we were hunter-gatherers, with Agriculture and 'dependence' on it, being a step back.
So the Paleo diet long ago brought out our best.
But upon the Paleo diet, the Mediterranean diet has added the Agricultural aspects with it to make it the best diet of all.

I've always liked the idea of the Mediterranean diet and it should be a lifestyle not a diet. We need cheese and yoghurt and dairy. Who could live without cheese?

The main thing for everyone should be moderation. Eat what you like but keep sugar, processed food and refined carbohydrates to a minimum.

Mediterranean Lifestyle does sound better. You're right. Enjoying the Greek food at Oakleigh in the Greek precinct in Melbourne was wonderful.
Everything in moderation is the key. One Nihonese woman died from eating 20 oranges in one day. Not good, even though Oranges are good for you.
Does anyone have any favourite Mediterranean Dishes they enjoy?
I haven't eating such for a long time now. No-one around where I live does such sadly. Just Pizzas, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai, McDonalds, etc.
Subway was good. I miss that. But they closed.

You dont cook? Spend one day a week cooking good stuff and freeze it for the rest of the week.

There might be something in here.

You have good access to fresh fish right? You're so lucky. Use it lol.

Snacks ...

I love Middle Eastern food and snacks and some of those are shared with the Mediterranean.

Looks scary BO. They all look so 'compli-mi-cated' to me. I eat good food, but cook it as simply as possible. I'm not a good cook at all. I'm like a Homo-erectus when it comes to cooking.

Just cook fish and salad. Or meat/chicken and salad. That's about as simple as it needs to be lol. Vegies if the majority are non starchy.

Well today I boiled 'Chocos' I think they are called, for the first time experience. Reminds me of Potato, just a bit greener in taste. So I'm having another with my plant-meat and mixed-veges. Been helping a young 22 year old female work on her little bus (future home) while she adapts it to her needs. Teaching her a few things and also learning a few things off her as well. Been a good day. She saw the Chocos and convinced me to try one.

I would say that the greatest threat to humans is that we eat too much.
That's why about 70% of us are either overweight or obese.
We'd be whole lot healthier if we ate about halve as much food as most people do.
