Five former prime ministers including John Howard and Julia Gilliard have vowed to get vaccinated in public as soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is available.

This comes amid fears people would be sacred to be vaccinated after University of Queensland-CSL vaccine was abandoned due to multiple trail participants returning false positive HIV test results.

Health authorities believe the only way to eradicate the disease is through vaccinations.
