The Govt tells us that the vax is not 100% effective
but confirmed here:

https://theconversation.com/covid-cases ... rus-166404
In Israel, 60% of hospitalised cases are vaccinated. This is something called the “paradox of vaccination” — in highly vaccinated populations, most cases will be in the vaccinated because
no vaccine is 100% protective.

Also -
you thought the vax rate in Israel was really high?
What’s clear in Israel (and the United Kingdom and United States) is lifting all movement restrictions and mask mandates after Delta arrived resulted in surging cases.
Current vaccines at about 60% uptake
weren’t enough.
It's only 60% of the total population.

NSW records 1,257 new COVID-19 cases, seven deaths as

Premier Gladys Berejiklian warns there will be different rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated people once NSW opens up as the state records 1,257 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths.
Key points:

Gladys Berejiklian says there has been a "slight slowdown" in vaccination rates
The Premier urges parents of 12-15-years-olds to get their children vaccinated
Ms Berejiklian fronted the media despite on Friday calling an end to her daily briefings

Ms Berejiklian said the government was still working on the plan for what would happen once NSW reached 80 per cent of residents being fully vaccinated.

But she said that going to shops and restaurants or travelling by air may only be available for those who could prove they were double jabbed.

"I don't want people to think they can sit back, let everybody else do the hard work and then turn up when it's 80 per cent and get everything else that vaccinated people are," she said.

"A private business might choose only to welcome patrons who are vaccinated.

"An airline might say you can only fly with us if you're vaccinated."

I am in 2 minds about giving advice to my friends
or anyone here over the vaccines.

I made a choice for myself based on a risk benefit analysis
plus advice from my doctor and I went ahead and got double vaxed with AstraZeneca.
So far I’m fine and I feel a bit more protected.
If I tell a friend to get vaxed and they take my advice and get sick or injured or die from the vax then I would feel responsible.
Then again –
If I tell them not to get vaxed and they take my advice and get dreadfully ill or die from Covid
then I would feel responsible for that too.
So – what can I do?
It’s a no win situation if something goes wrong.
We all have to make a risk benefit analysis for ourselves based on evidence that we can find.

If you watch here:

watch 4 short CNN videos in a row here:

Make up your own mind after what the doctors and nurses say.

NSW recorded 1,127 new locally acquired COVID-19 infections and two deaths in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

A man in his 50s from Western Sydney, who had no underlying health issues, died at Concord Hospital.

A woman in her 80s from Western Sydney died at Ryde Hospital.

There have been 186 COVID-related deaths since the outbreak began in June, with 242 in total since the start of the pandemic.

In hospitals, there are 231 COVID-19 patients in the state's intensive care units, and 104 of those are on ventilators.

The areas of concern remain in Western and south-western Sydney, in Auburn, Greenacre, Bankstown, Liverpool, Merrylands, Punchbowl, Riverwood, Yagoona, Condell Park, and St Clair.

Deputy health officer Jeremy McAnulty said it was too early to tell if the drop in case numbers meant the state was over the highest peak of the outbreak.

NSW records 1,259 new COVID-19 cases as state hits 80 per cent single dose vaccination target

NSW has become Australia’s first state to vaccinate 80 per cent of people aged over 16 with at least one COVID-19 jab, prompting a surprise easing of restrictions in some parts of Sydney.
Key points:

The curfew for the 12 Sydney local government areas of concern will end tonight
47.5 per cent of the over-16 population have now received both doses of a vaccine
The youngest of the 12 deaths was a woman in her 30s who had underlying health conditions

The milestone came as 1,259 new infections were confirmed in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday, and the state’s pandemic death toll reached 252 after 12 fatalities were announced.

The number of deaths was NSW’s equal highest daily total.

After announcing the state had reached the 80 per cent immunisation target, Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the evening curfew that had been imposed on several areas in Sydney’s west and south-west would be scrapped immediately.

The curfew has been in place since August 23 and was brought in to stop people leaving their homes for non-essential reasons between 9:00pm and 5:00am.

It applied to Bayside, Blacktown, Burwood, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool, Parramatta, Strathfield, and some suburbs of Penrith.

Ms Berejiklian said there was "light at the end of the tunnel" but "we still have work to do".

They only play up unvaccinated deaths. They ignore the rest.
