Victoria is roughly two weeks from having 90 per cent of those aged 12 years and over fully vaccinated.(
Victoria has recorded 1,313 new local COVID-19 cases and four deaths, as the government's proposed pandemic laws continue to come under fire from the state's opposition.
There are now 15,675 active cases of the virus in Victoria, and 394 people have died during the current Delta outbreak.
The new cases were detected from 67,105 test results received yesterday.
There were 457 people in hospital, of whom 79 were in intensive care with 48 on a ventilator.
There were 10,358 doses of vaccine given at state-run centres yesterday, as well as more vaccinations at GP clinics and other venues.

Meanwhile, the Victorian opposition says it plans to delay debate the on government's pandemic laws — which have already passed the Victorian Parliament's lower house and will come before the upper house next week — so that parliament and the public have more time to consider the legislation.
The laws seek to replace the state of emergency powers with authority handed over to the premier and health minister, and have received criticism and protest.
Sixty QCs have signed an open letter expressing concern the bill could allow the government to "rule … by decree for the foreseeable future".
Shadow Attorney-General Matt Bach said he was concerned the government was trying to rush the laws through Parliament.
"The Labor government rammed these laws through the lower house in just a matter of hours," he said.
"Now, because these laws are so significant, at a minimum there is more time for the community to engage."

My son's girlfriend's mother just had a shocking reaction to her 2nd Moderna jab. She's been throwing up violently for 2 days and can barely raise her head. Isn't this the one they want to give to 5 year olds?

I don't trust those mRNA jabs.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 10:48 amMy son's girlfriend's mother just had a shocking reaction to her 2nd Moderna jab. She's been throwing up violently for 2 days and can barely raise her head. Isn't this the one they want to give to 5 year olds?
I had the AstraZeneca vax which is a more traditional vaccine.
I get the flu vax every year so it was no big deal to me.

Both were quite I'm, but my poor son was throwing up and shiting through a needle for two days.
We visited him on the third day and he looked terrible.
He is on pain medication for a spinal injury and his wife has only one kidney ( gave the other to her father).
Perhaps that's why they were so sick?
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

I was a bit crook from AstraZeneca for 1 day - that's all -
nothing that 2 Panadols didn't fix.
The 2nd jab did nothing - not even a sore arm.

Re: Melbourne lockdown ends 22nd October 2021
NSW numbers are on the rise again. We really need to just open up and get on with life. Variants are usually more contagious but less deadly and it isn't going to go away.
