All Australian cops are starting to get a little too big for their boots.

They are supposed to protect people, but over the years they have been regulated into the position of enforcers.

They enforce draconian fines
They are revenue collectors
They enforce grubberment mandates
And, any criminals they actually catch, are soon let off by the morons in the court system.

They don't know their roll any more.
So now they get angry and take it out on people.

When I was a kid, the cops walked around our suburb to chat to people about things in the area.
They were good blokes and even kicked the footy around with the kids.
We respected them and trusted them.

Now they were SS uniforms and parade around as if they owned the place.
No more friendly faces
Just SS troops enforcing draconian laws.

The police have lost the main thing they need to do their jobs -
the trust of the public.

Victoria records highest-ever daily COVID total
with 1,438 cases and five deaths

Victorian authorities say illegal gatherings and house parties over the AFL grand final day long weekend are behind the dramatic jump in COVID-19 infections in the state.
Key points:

The state's COVID-19 response commander says AFL grand final parties contributed to about a third of the new cases
Premier Daniel Andrews says "hundreds, if not thousands" of recent cases were caused by people choosing to break rules
The interval between Pfizer doses at state-run vaccination sites will be reduced back down to three weeks from Monday, and Moderna supplies at state hubs have been boosted

The state has recorded 1,438 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 and five further deaths.

The deaths bring the total from this outbreak to 41.

The new cases were detected from 65,497 test results processed on Wednesday. It is a more than 50 per cent increase on the 950 recorded a day earlier.

Premier Daniel Andrews said many of the new infections were "completely avoidable".

Household visits are banned across the state, but authorities said contact tracing interviews suggested the grand final long weekend saw illegal gatherings that had contributed to spread.

"Hundreds, if not thousands" of the new infections were because of rule breaches, Mr Andrews said.

"I'm not trying to blame anyone, I'm simply trying to explain ... how could it have gone up by so much, so fast," he said.

Daniel Andrews refuses to rule out roadmap delay, labels lockdown a success as COVID cases soar

Premier Daniel Andrews has refused to rule out delays to Victoria’s roadmap to freedom as he claims lockdown has been a success despite an increase in COVID-19 cases.

September 30, 2021 - 4:23PM

Melbourne’s latest lockdown has come under fresh scrutiny as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the city, causing Premier Daniel Andrews to consider a “pause” in the Victoria’s roadmap to freedom.

After Victoria reported 1,438 coronavirus cases on Thursday, Mr Andrews said it would be irresponsible to not consider changing the roadmap if infections continue to rise.

“We are not turning back, we are finding a way to push through and get this place open, we've got to do it. This is a plan to open up,” he said.

“However, it would be irresponsible for me to say that we wouldn't for instance have to pause, we wouldn't have to modify things.”

See the graph.
The cases went up after the lockdown -
the opposite of what was expected.

Case numbers in Victoria could soon hit 6000 per day
as talk turns to an extension of the state's lockdowns, an expert has warned.

Victoria has recorded 1,143 new cases of COVID-19 and three deaths.

The cases were detected from 62,883 test results and bring the state's total number of active cases to 10,944.

The figure is a smaller increase than Thursday's record leap of 1,438 new cases.

The release of today's figures was later than usual, with the health department issuing a 9:20am tweet to flag the numbers were "slightly delayed".

On Thursday afternoon, Melbourne GP Catherine Orr took to social media to note the "positive notification website" had crashed.

"Might be a delay in numbers tomorrow if we can't enter data," Dr Orr said.
Announcement on construction reopening anticipated

Premier Daniel Andrews said a high number of illegal household gatherings over the AFL grand final weekend had resulted in the dramatic jump in case numbers announced on Thursday.

"Actual interviews tell us that many hundreds of people, perhaps thousands of people … have made choices that they're spending time not in their own home, but in someone else's home. That's how this virus spreads," he said.

Health authorities have asked anyone who attended a gathering last weekend to immediately get tested.

You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. Protect yourself and open up already. The tyranny is worse than the pandemic.

I agree.
We've had the longest lockdown time in the world.

About a million authorised workers across Victoria will need to have had at least one dose of a COVID vaccine by October 15 to keep working on site.

The same group of workers will need to have had both vaccine doses by November 26.

Separate timelines remain in place for groups that already had vaccination mandates, such as construction workers, teachers and healthcare workers.

Construction workers must have had at least one dose before working on site from next Tuesday.

Other timelines for specific authorised workers, including teachers, are outlined on this government website.

If you're wondering whether or not you're an essential worker, the full list is below.
Who is considered an authorised worker?

The list includes any person who performs work that is essential for the continued operation of:

Victoria records 1,488 new cases of COVID-19
and 2 deaths

as regional communities are thrust into lockdown

Victoria has recorded 1,488 new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths, marking the highest ever daily increase in cases for the state.

At state-run sites, 36,878 doses of vaccine were administered.

The cases were detected from 71,224 test results and bring the state's total number of active cases to 11,591.

The City of Greater Shepparton entered a week-long snap lockdown at midnight last night, with restrictions the same as those currently in place in metropolitan Melbourne but without a curfew in place.

There are now 24 active cases of COVID-19 in Greater Shepparton, with the number expected to rise in coming days as health authorities express concerns about onward transmission.

Acting Chief Health Officer Ben Cowie said the measure was needed to limit the growth of cases in the same fashion as the lockdowns in Ballarat, Geelong and the Surf Coast Shire.

"We’ve just seen the Ballarat and Geelong communities get through an outbreak, so we know it can be done – it’s vital we protect the local community and the rest of regional Victoria from significant outbreaks," Professor Cowie said.

Moorabool Shire was also put into lockdown overnight, with 32 COVID cases linked to the LGA as of Friday.

More to come.
