Iceland's Volcano's

Post by Jasin » Sun Mar 17, 2024 3:04 pm

Visually awesome, despite their destructive capabilities which at times, can be more devastating than the Australian WildFires - because there is nothing you can do to stop a lava spread towards a town.

I think that one has erupted 3 times since December?

You're right Black Orchid. It's been going on for awhile. Erupts, then stops a bit, then erupts again.
Simply beautiful.

I spent some time in Iceland last year. Beautiful country, but very expensive for just about everything! One of the tourist attractions is the Blue Lagoon which is a huge thermal pool. I see it has been closed as the volcano eruption has made the area virtually uninhabitable.

Wow! You've been to Iceland MazdaBT50. 8-) Shame you couldn't meet Brooke Shields, she's still hot as a volcano eruption. I wouldn't mind going there, but I didn't know it is expensive. Makes sense, due to its isolation and the Azores Islands are much the same. If there, I would dive the continental rift chasm for starters. I wonder if their Insurances for loss of House to Lava Flows are as compassionate and reliable as the Australian Insurance Companies here regarding Flood and Bushfire loss (Not!)?

More pics on the Iceland Volcano - lava flows. Lucky its just a crack eruption and not a giant mountain cone exploding ash everywhere.
