US government review faults Microsoft for ‘cascade’ of errors that
allowed Chinese hackers to breach senior US officials’ emails

Published 10:29 PM EDT, Tue April 2, 2024

Hackers downloaded about 60,000 emails from the State Department alone.

the review board faulted Microsoft (MSFT) for not adequately protecting
a sensitive cryptographic key that allowed the hackers to remotely sign into
their targets’ Outlook accounts by forging credentials.

Those Ching-a-lings are cunning.
Remember they busted ASIO spying on them and basically scuttled ASIO for over a month.
I personally got wind of this a week before it was brought out by the Media.
Hence why ASIO swallowed its pride and organised a HACK-A-THON in an effort to find some Australian-loyal Hackers to maybe take a job up with ASIO.
The Hack-A-Thon was a smart and humble move by ASIO and it should be a yearly recruitment drive!!!

The fact is that everyone uses Microsoft Office as it's so damn good.
Outlook pisses on any other email client.

I don't have to worry. I have 'free' Internet, computers, etc - everything paid for. I care not.
Well, for now. ;)

I do have Word but have never opened it. I've been using Apache OpenOffice for years and unlike Microsoft it's free. I begrudge paying Microsoft a single cent for anything.
