My daughter’s auditioning today with her new Lyrical ( contemporary) at school for Christmas concert.

She did amazing at eisteddfods btw, 3 seconds and 3 firsts and one HM.

🙂

Been a bit busy lately, had a flair following eisteddfods, and am now in the early stages of a small renovation.

Just painting and minor building project. 👷‍♀️

More eisteddfods next school holidays. Lol.... will stay the entire week this time .

Alaska, a beautiful place I'd consider moving to. The climate is perfect.

That bell- boy, oh my, that's something my daughter would do given the opportunity to be a bell-girl for a day

I do love traditional church or even town- hall bells. We have them here in Ballarat.

Is she athletic enough to do bell jumping?

She's academically, athletically, callisthenically ( dance + acro+ gymnastics) gifted, and she can also sing, but there's no freaking way I'd be letting her anywhere near those bells, they look deadly!

Deadly as in D.E.A.T.H not in a good way. 😶

As her mother, I couldn't watch any of my kids, bell jumping, I mean it looks harmless enough, just hold onto the rope and pull down, then let the bell take you up for a ride, yes?

The problem is the height of the building, what if you went up, lost your grip ( panicked) and then fell down the other side of the building?

Perhaps with a professional harness, but not how they're doing it, because it would only take one mistake and you'd fall to your death on the other side.

Not to mention hearing loss. Lol

I hope the bell boys are wearing earmuffs...if not, they'll be deaf as a post by the time they're adults.

:bgrin

I'm guessing they've got netting to stop people falling to their deaths on the other side of the wall, they'd have to, because noone would insure an activity like this otherwise.

If there was safety netting, then yes, I'd let her have a crack at it, but , I doubt they'd let young kids do this activity anyway, if they did they'd need to have a harness, helmet, earmuffs and we parents would have to sign a medical waver lol.

Same with rock climbing these days, even the pre- fab rock walls , not real ones, they have to wear a helmet, harness, grip gloves, and the bloody things are only a couple of metres tall and made of plastic with foot holes and hand grippers to position your hands and feet. Not much fun when all the risk is removed.
