although lately Toyota seems determined to destroy it's reputation

I also have several friends who bought new toyota Hiaces for work and they all had problems with front tyres wearing out quickly. Roughly every 5000km they need to replace front tyres. Toyota originally denied the problem but now will admit it's a problem with the front camber , but only after repeated complaints. Even though they acknowledge the problem they still insist one of their engineers has to inspect the van before they will fix it. Just wasting everyones time. One of those guys last week also had to replace his clutch ... his van has only got 15000 kms on it.

I hope toyota clean up their act.
