1 vote per legitimate member should be all we require. I wasn't allowed to vote in the first 2 elections when I first arrived here because some dimwit (guess who) claimed I was a sock.

IMO if you use a proxy you are trying to hide something unless, of course, it's a well known member like SN who may have to use one for work purposes.

Generally speaking though if you join up here using a proxy, make no meaningful posts and then dive in at election time to vote ... you're a sock and should not be counted.

her 2nd post was the 2nd time she voted for Aussie.
And note what I said about proxies!
But some people claim that they use a proxy for security reasons.
I only ever used a proxy when I posted at Monk's dump.
I didn't want that doxxing prick to get my IP address.

No-one is going to get your name and address from your IP. It's just an approximation anyway. They can tell if you are in Melbourne, Sydney etc but they cannot find you or your home address.

I check mine occasionally and sometimes it has me posting several hours away from where I am, which is Sydney.

It would only be a worry if the company address you post from shows but I doubt many people here even work and if a whole bunch of newbies show up to vote for 1 person claiming they need a proxy for security reasons then I have a bridge in Tasmania to sell you, if you're interested in bridges.

Are you a drug addled dope head off your face, Vulcan?

Is that why my vote and Graham's vote was not counted?
Think before you speak (type) Thwakball please.
Your votes 'were counted' by Aussie. But the Divine Intervention from way above 'sacked' Aussie and thus made all his votes 'void'.
I won by default. :yahoo
Don't know where you get the presumption 'drugs' were involved - Aussie was the one who got sacked for 'poor performance' afterall.

I did the count -
I'm sorry - you're missing.
Now - where is Graham? - there is no poster with that name.

Just out of interest.

Corrected Election results - Thwakball added -
versus number of posts from each voter
and using my logarithmic counting technique -
JaSin wins - 22.3 votes to Aussie 18.7 votes.

6 people voted for JaSin/ Vulcan:
Super Nova - 11,766 posts - 4.07
Redneck - 6,275 posts - 3.79
Vulcan - 144 posts - 2.16
Bobby – 16,505 posts - 4.22
Black Orchid – 25,109 posts – 4.40
BigP - 4,914 posts - 3.69

Total Log10 votes: 22.33

11 people voted for Aussie:

TIB - 4 posts - 0.60
Donnie Darko - 2 posts - 0.30
Achmed - 29 posts - 1.46
GraGra - 3 posts – 0.48
Lisa - 11,207 posts - 4.05
UpUpandAway - 12 posts - 1.08
belchabeerdown - 37 posts - 1.57
Wally Raffles – 198 posts - 2.30
Buster Scruggs - 11 posts - 1.04
Thwakball - 68 posts - 1.83
Aussie – many 1,000s of posts - exact number not known now.
Lets say 10,000 - 4.00

Total Log10 = 18.71

Can people see the benefit of my logarithmic counting technique ?

Even with all those sock puppet votes, JaSin still won without all the controversy. :)

Bobby....you might be able to answer this question (given you have no trouble listing PA ids who use proxy IP's).

I haven't listed PA ids who use proxy IP's.

Sorry - that would be revealing personal information only available to staff.
