It would be better if it was connected to 'posts made for that year' otherwise someone who was prolific in the past, but posted only once this year, could receive an over-estimated vote count year after year for quite awhile.
It does add a nice reward package for election votes.
But with you Bobby, being the most prolific this year over others, you could win the Election for yourself on your votes only over 'everyone' else's combined vote against.

Worth discussing in future, but a bit of a short notice thing right on this Election. But I'm open to it for next Election if there's a majority 1 vote per person vote on it. :P

Thanks JaSin,
I actually did a recount using the Log method and it wouldn't have changed
the final result from the last 2 elections.

They were bad elections run by a crook using many of his own socks. With an honest EL running the election there should never be a problem. There never has been in the past.

But my logarithmic count is a good idea because the EL no longer had to get into
arguments as to whether someone was a sock puppet or not - hard to prove when they use proxy servers -
their vote count after only ever making a couple of posts didn't count for much anyway.

Maybe just ban the use of proxies if you want to vote lol. 8-)

The socks had a reply to that too -

they insist that they only ever go to forum sites using a proxy as they don't want to be traced by Big Brother
and persecuted for their political beliefs.

While a proxy server can effectively mask your IP address, making it appear as though internet traffic originates from a different location, it doesn't guarantee total anonymity. If the proxy server's logs are accessed and Big Brother can do that, your activities could potentially be traced back to your original IP address.

Big Brother is watching you and he knows everything.

It's really got nothing to do with Big Brother. It's all to do with having multiple IDs to deceive people and I find that quite deranged. Who, other than a really disturbed person, wants to portray multiple different characters on a small forum?

If your work place shows up in your IP that's different but I doubt that's the case in reality nowadays for all but 1 or 2 people at most.
