My father didnt start his family well into his forties A bit of a tradtion in our family, My great grandmother was born in 1895 her husband was 30 years older, my father is 92 , remaried 35 years ago, they kick around the countryside in a campervan ,he does the driving,

I have good genes lol

My great grand mother had a pic of Winston Churchill on her lounge wall, I grew up thinking he was my great grand father lol
Both my grandfathers (maternal and paternal) married much younger women. I guess that is what happened back then. My maternal GF was a widower with 2 kids when he married my GM when she was 18 ... my mother was their first kid. There was about 40 years difference in age.

My paternal GF married "late", he was in his 40s and she was 18 .... my father was their second kid.

Gosh, did your Granny also have a picture of King George V on the wall too?
