I used to buy Latchet years ago because it made a very excellent fish pie. I haven't seen it in eons though.

Although Latchet and some Gurnard are treated as interchangeable in fish markets and restaurants they aren't exactly the same.

Both are ugly and have spikes though lol.
You should try filleting the buggers at fast pace. Ouch! :oops

Last night I had some Barramundi -
so large it didn't fit on my plate - very nice.
