Re: Resourceville blues and the great economic slump
We were talking about WA Labor, WI.
Rudd and Swan have broken with a trend followed by Rodent & Tip: Rudd and Swan actually listen to Treasury! Just a minor thing, but it might just see us not descend into depression unlike most of the rest of the world. Swan and Tanner actually know something (a lot!) about economics as does our Assistant Treasurer Chris Bowen and some others in the Parliamentary ALP.

What? are you saying we now have a government that listens to the advice of experts rather then pretend that they knew it all like tip and the rodent?Jovial Monk wrote:We were talking about WA Labor, WI.

Thats what the right whingers dont get, the're so used to being told the Liberal party are the only party who can manage the economy it really freaks them out when they see Labor doing a good job in hard times and actually listening to treasury advice, imagine if the rodent had listened to treasury advice? I'd say we would be in much better shape than we are.
Re: Resourceville blues and the great economic slump
I wish Howard listened when people said to not introduce the baby bonus, child care rebates, private health rebates and expanding middle class welfare like the hideous fhb grant. Obviously didn't know the meaning of "middle class welfare dependency" and "suburban spoilt brats". Nice work ex-PM arsehole.
Interesting with the financial slump these middle class clowns are pulling their kids out of private schools and into public schools, now that the money is drying up.

Re: Resourceville blues and the great economic slump
That is already happening? Didn't take long!
When some private schools charge $15K/year and give no better results than a nearby public HS the only thing you are getting for your $15K is snob value. Quickly jettisoned in a financial crisis.

Depression nis a forgegone conclusion, if you know anything about anything.
Can you tell us why the great and mighty Unions are blocking School Based Apprentceships JM?
Re: Resourceville blues and the great economic slump
I don't think they are, WI.
They kicked up a bit of fuss when it was announced but are not blocking it. If you have any info to the contrary please post it.
Some trades involve heavy work, I would imagine some trade unions could see OH&S issues?

Adelaide Advertiser yesterday, P14.
They are doing it through COAG, which means the project is National.

Natural resources and debt have long been the most common catalyst for war.
Exceptions tend to be for military geo-tactical advantage .. eg high ground.
