I had hoped all the crap the usual bimbos had added to my thread here would be gone by now! Yes, sprint you are the bimbos’ bimbo! When I read blond jokes in my head I make them Sprint jokes, sometimes Lisa jokes
Anyway, another walk today. Skipped the Eagle on the Hill to Stirling and Stirling to Birdwood stretches of the Pioneer Women’s Trail and drove straight to Birdwood, parking in the shoppincentre carpark there.
As soon as I opened the door I knew we were higher than yesterday—quite a chill in the air despite today being less overcast and sunnier than yesterday. Walked over to the Birdwood Mill where the 110yo mill wheel was slowly turning with the usual lovely groaning-creaking-grumbling noises under the influence of water from Cox creek.
From there headed back down a bit, through the short tunnel under the interstate railway where a creek flows through as well, creating a marvellous rushing-water sound when it is really flowing. Today the creek was more sedate and not much noise, unfortunately. On to the tunnel under the freeway. Send the dog to the far side then call her. Because of the acoustics of the tunnel my little dog running back to me sounds like a squadron of cavalry
All this stretch of the Trail is bloody beautiful: everything is green except the imported trees which were showing vivid fall colors. Kookaburras were laughing all round and why not? I’d be laughing if I was living there rent free too! Back to the Mill.
From the Mill down to the last stretch of the Trail that is still possible to walk (the very last stage is not doable because an old wooden bridge has been declared unsafe by Dept Roads.
Nicest bit of this stretch is down behind the Bridgewater oval (the goal posts of which would puzzle Annie

,) along the creek
into the creek onto an outcrop and up the other bank. After that it is more boring along streets including a cruel bit up a long, steeply sloping street
Was fucking glad to get back to the car again and between you me and the gatepost I think the dog was too!
Relaxing now with a Hoppinator double IPA—I consider it a pleasant Mild but too dark and not hoppy enough for even a single IPA
Good long walk today!
