That's why questions need to be asked right? Assumptions just don't cut it.
I don't know what goes on in other states but in NSW pensioners could find under this new proposal that they are going to be a lot worse off than they are now.
It could well be a sly way to actually shave money from the existing pensioner dental scheme.
Right?
With just $500 per year they won't even get dentures if needed.

Three times tonight on tv they have referred to this as FREE dental care for pensioners and that, of course, is a lie.

I guess we will have to wait and see how it pans out
I gather it is to be applied under Medicare so bulk billing may be the free option (free to the pensioner that is)
My current local government one can charge up to $300/year in any treatment period. (It usually only ends up costing me up to about $200 I think) Not sure how many pensioners cant afford that but I am sure there are some on basic pensions and renting as an example.
Will both systems continue to operate as in my case the ACT Government one serves school children as well as holders of pension/concession cards?
Also I guess we dont know what happens in the other states/territory currently.

I find it INSULTING bo.....this generation whinge and everyone comes running now its free childcare... for gods sakes they are the most greedy generation we have ever hadBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 2:51 pmWhat is Morrison offering? Nothing that I know of but that doesn't negate the fact that $1,000 over 2 years for pensioners dental work is just about worthless.
Years ago Medicare provided pensioners and people with chronic disease around $4,250 over a 2 year period and that was worthwhile. Trying to replace that with $500 per year is not going to help too many people.
You rabbit on about stunts. THIS IS A STUNT!![]()
Stop being a schmuck.
and yet the older generation who actually have kept this country ahead of most countries are told heres a hand out of $500 as you say they will be lucky if they get one filling for that............shows how much this guy knows about the real world..

If you get major dental work done in Australia, you're nuts. We have the highest dental cost in the world...or close.

True but I imagine people are still a bit wary of travelling to India, the Philippines or Thailand unless they are familiar with them and they would have to be able to afford the trip, treatment and hospitalisation as well.
