NBN take up = 16%

Post by IQSRLOW » Mon Jun 07, 2010 8:18 pm

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/ju ... 5876225571
ONLY 16 per cent of homes and businesses passed by national broadband network fibre-optic would choose to connect to it, even after 15 years.

The surprisingly low estimates were prepared by the Tasmanian government and have been released to The Australian under Freedom of Information law, in a ruling by state Ombudsman Simon Allston.

Also released are documents showing Tasmania initially wanted the NBN rolled out mostly via wireless technology - rather than fibre - as a more cost-effective delivery method.

This would appear to support criticisms of the Rudd government's eventual NBN plan for relying chiefly on more expensive optic fibre to deliver high-speed internet.
What a waste of money
 (Hi Monk, you lying fucking douchebag :D )

The Australian and IQBLOWS just can't help lying.

In Tassie NBN take up is 45%. Hicks taking the NBN up in huge numbers. This is fact, not some old study dressed up to seem topical. BTW Internode is offering a 200Gbyte monthly cap and 100mbps sustained speed.

Now roll it out all over Australia at 1Gbps speed and take up will be 75%.

With the second leg of the GFC about to hit, and depression and deflation with it, the NBN will be the perfect nation building and stimulus program with a wave of innovation and new services and applications to transform the economy following the NBN rollout. Already TV over IP is being offered but really needs the NBN to work.

If they'd roll it out in Hobart and Launceston, and not pissy little places like Sorell, the takeup would be much higher. What do they expect when they choose dormitory outer suburban villages, instead of business centres (and people like us who use computers).

It's the bloody gas pipeline all over again - it'll never run past our place, and we live on the eastern bank of the Derwent, in th middle of Hobart.

Facts? The fact is there is a 45% take up in Tassie. that 45, f o r t y f i v e percent, it is being taken up as enthusiastically in the bits of North Queensland where it is being rolled out.

When it starts being rolled out all over the speed will be 1Gbps and the take up will be 95%.

LOL in 2020 IQBLOWS will still be quoting that crap article

LOL...back again and still showing you are a conviction-less moron eh Monk? How about that back stabbing fluffy bunny, Julia eh? What will you use for masturbation material now? Julia is out being female :)

Cuntroy is the only one who has said anything about "45%" and he is a proven liar. In any case considering the initial deal offered to tassy connectors, even 45% is piss poor (just like the 25Mbs they are offering- so all your "1Gbs woohoo!" is just another one of your lies- you have sooooo many Monk. No wonder you are a Liebor supporter. It comes so easily to you)

Official figures for long term take up are 16%- suck it

Even the Tassy NBN chairman 'hopefully' predicts 28-30% AFTER 3 YEARS
http://www.optuszoo.com.au/news/138551/ ... o-nbn.html
THE man heading the rollout of the NBN predicts fewer than 30 per cent of premises will take its super-fast internet service.

NBN Tasmania chairman Doug Campbell said the initial success of the NBN, which will be switched on for the first homes in Tasmania from July, could not be judged for three years.

When asked what kind of take-up rate he was hoping for after that time, he pointed to a rate of 28-30 per cent achieved in the eastern US by company Verizon.

"They are in a very competitive environment and a very dense environment with a high (consumer) understanding of the value of high-speed broadband -- and they've got up to 28 per cent to 30 per cent penetration," Mr Campbell said.

However, he suggested such rates may not be achievable in Tasmania,
Wrong about Kev. Wrong about the NBN.
How does it feel to be wrong so many times, so often Monkyboy?

45% you dweeb, 45%. The deal with Telstra will see Telstra customers migrating directly to the NBN.

But keep on waving that old study that says 16%. Hey, you believe it!

45% it is, going to increase rapidly from now on! And why wouldn't it? $45 for high speed internet with no real cap plus telephone. Only IQ would refuse that offer     Except that you won't, will you dweeb? You will sign on quick smart for higher definition video of dogs fucking women eh?
