Swan well deserves the award. He drives reform, cutiing $22Bn middleclass welfare, in the Carbon Price Bill he drove the reform to triple the tax free threshold which will see many more people return to work.

By contrast, a very badly designed GST was just jammed on top of existing tax law. No reform, just a tax to get Howard out of a hole.

ATM with demand down the states are struggling because GST (and stamp duties) are down.

Costello was the sort of clown to bring in a baby bonus, crow about the increase in the birthrate then not increase forward estimates for spending on childcare, kindy etc.

A clown, a god in his own eyes. When Howard got booted out of Bennelong and the Libs were waiting for Costello to claim the Leadership he turned tail and ran. No private enterprise work was ever offered to him, private sector knew him as an arrogant, clue-less bully.
