Yes indeed, and here's the pdf breakdown...

http://www.ag.gov.au/CrimeAndCorruption ... ojects.pdf

Like I said before, the bulk of this funding has gone to Jewish independent schools, the next group heavily funded were non-Jewish prestigious independent schools, though nowhere near to the same extent.
Finally, there were a tiny cluster of government schools who received dribs and drabs, though nothing compared to Jewish schools, and by their own admission.

Your point IQ's?

Sorry but you fail.

8-) Do you need a calculator IQ's?

If the teachers arent confident, then how is it we can expect their students will be?

:roll
If these teachers are in their first few years of teaching then maybe that's a factor? Beginning teachers don't have a high level of confidence as they try to find their feet. Doesn't mean these teachers are shit at their job, it just means they'll thrive as they get more experience. They could also be teaching in difficult schools where they have to teach against many socio and cultural factors. I once had a science class that was so naughty I had to ban practicals and computer usage and, believe me, that affected my confidence and ability to teach the subject thourougly.

You are pissing in the wind this and are taking pot shots as to what might be the rational for their lack of confidence.

The point is, more than 20% of Australian year 8 maths and science teachers aren't as confident teaching maths and science as they should be.

End of story, irrespective of why this is the case.

And it's a disgrace!

And, once again, you fail to acknowledge possible contributing factors other than to provide silly whining and complaining about Jews being treated favourably. That's being closed minded and I hope to God, Buddha, Mohammed, whoever, that you don't work in a school - not even to clean the toilets.

Unfortunately too much blame gets thrown on the teachers, when parents are often are big factor in students not being able to apply themselves. Children have to be taught to respect their teachers even if they don't particularly like them.

To make matters worse - the universities have also lowered the ranking for admission into general teaching, so the standard isn't as high as it used to be. This was to attract more people to the profession, but we're seeing the effects of this now in some states. A teacher with lower intellect can't perform as well as a teacher who is bright.

Bottom line, qualified teachers should be confident teaching the subjects they are being paid to teach.

If they're not qualified and or confident teaching maths/science, then how is it we can expect that our children will be as confident as they should be learning?

:roll And wog girl, that was a rather silly post don't you think?

Go away and think about it.

How is my being concerned that Jewish schools are being funded better, this and are being taught better than other schools for political point scoring purposes closed minded?

Seriously, some of you need to wake up.

:roll It's reverse discrimination of the highest order, given non-Jewish schools particularly our public schools are being discriminated against on the basis of them not being Jewish.

You mean, parents should actually be parents, be a role model, to teach in concert with teachers...that'll never work.

For starters, some of these kids parents aren't capable, this or don't have the capacity to assist with homework.
Should these kids fall behind because their teachers aren't capable of teaching the subjects they are being paid to teach in their schools?

The fact still remains, more than 20% of year 8 maths and science teachers in Australia are not as confident as they should be teaching the subjects they teach.

I think this in itself is rather telling.

Of course, the question is....what are we going to do about it?

The latest mobile, a new video game console, and a new couch for them to lounge around on.
Wrap up our little princes and princesses, else they may toughen up to what life is all about.
