It's alright for Indians to railroad the obvious suspects, but not us? Fascinating.

Looks to me like they didn't get the number one lawyers on India to represent them. What do you say ladies, do you buy this defence argument.

The lawyer representing three of the men charged with the gang rape and murder of a medical student aboard a moving bus in New Delhi has blamed the victims for the assault, saying he has never heard of a "respected lady" being raped in India.

Is he trying to get them hanged. Suits me.

Welcome to the enigma..........the magical mystery tour........ that is India. Be prepared for more. But also, please keep in mind the presumption of innocence to which those charged (in Australia.....dunno about India) are entitled to.

It's amazing what some women still have to put up with. How about that girl in the Maldives who is facing a flogging when she turns 18, for fornication, because her father raped her (and apparently killed the resulting infant). Sick, sick joke

That is just sick. It's about power and men have absolute power of women in some societies still. These examples just beyond my understanding. I mean that governments and legal system in the world still see rape of women their fault and they punish the women, the victim rather than protect her (and her child).

What state of mind must they be left with.

Under the law and legal process this may be true. As an individual not involved in the legal process, fuck em, they a guilty and since captial punishment exists in India I want them convicted (if they are guilty), hanged and if I had my way they would be hanged after each of them were forced to spend a weekend with Bubba.

Amazing how Aussies presumption of innocence plea mysteriously disappeared when Abbott was accused of punching the wall behind some lefty slag with nary a peep from him when the "eye witnesses" turned out to be nothing of the sort

Lawyers at a Delhi court have said they will not defend the six people standing trial for the gang-rape and murder of a 23-year-old medical student whose case has shocked the country and provoked a national outcry for safety of women.

Hearings are expected to begin on Thursday at the Saket district courts, where the Delhi Police will formally present a 1,000-page chargesheet against five men facing the charges. The sixth, believed to be a juvenile, would be tried in a juveniles'' court, but the police are conducting bone tests to determine his age.

"We have decided that no lawyer will stand up to defend them. It would be immoral to defend the case,"
Our resident pedo defender should have no issue wiping the blood from their penises onto his resume...
Every individual has the right to a defence, innocent or guilty, this and to have their case heard in court.
They are entitled, well should be entitled to adequate legal representation, well in a mature democracy they would be anyway.
But we are talking about India!
They'll probably be stoned to death..lol and if guilty, they probably deserve to be, though without adequate legal representation and a fair trial, we'll never know.
:roll
The 4 pillars of a mature democracy are legislature, executive, judiciary and press.
This might help explain why innocent or guilty, it's unlikely these men will receive a fair trial,(by our standards) much less a sound defence.

I think i nthuis case the evidence will convict them.

- DNA evidence of all of them
- Witenesses
- Probably their admissions

In these circumstances they would be convicted anywhere. The legal system is the same as Australia.

They will get a fair hearing. Their defence position is non-existent. They will hang.

I do think a defence of "well women are askign for it" is probably not the best position to take though. So the only thing in question is the quality of their defence lawyer. This may be grounds for a mistrial if they are not careful.
