I hate 3D movies... I have only watched a couple and IMO they are either inferior quality movies which use it in the hopes of gaining a bigger audience or the use of 3D is a complete waste of time. I hate having to wear the one size fit all glasses. I hate having to pay extra.

I remember reports of Pegasus in Clash of the Titans having 6 legs the 3D was so bad. I remember watching Alice in Wonderland and wondering why they bother... honestly some movies are shot just for the 3D effect. This is very limiting and a tad boring when it comes to having things jump out at you all the time.

I saw Avatar in 3D because I had no choice... I also saw it in 2D...

Foxtel ditches 3D due to lack of interest

THE section of 3D movies at the DVD store could soon go the way of Betamax, with Australian audiences showing a distinct lack of interest in the technology.

The low rate of take-up has already prompted international content producers to axe their 3D output and now Foxtel has followed suit locally.

In a statement on Monday, the pay-TV provider said the channel would be removed from the on-screen and online TV guides on August 27.

"In light of the recent moves by the BBC and ESPN and other 3D content producers around the world, as well as the lack of interest by Australian audiences of 3D television, it is no longer viable for Foxtel to maintain a dedicated 3D channel," a Foxtel spokesperson said in the statement.

Foxtel says it will continue to show 3D movies on its On Demand service from time to time.

When will Hollywood get it and stop wasting money producing these abominations and just concentrate on making good movies?

3D is cool if they really use it for max effect. Not all movies should be 3D.

I only bother going to the cinema for 3D movies - don't have the technology at home yet. That is probably why the DVDs are not selling.

I also re-use the glasses. You don't have to throw them in the recycle bin after the movie and pay extra for a new pair next time.

3D is the yoyo of cinema.

It is a fad that comes and goes but is never a substitute for a good story or film making. A lot of this regeneration is purely based on getting bums on seats in the theatres and the inability to cam a bootleg to torrent.
